Child Safety

The Shepparton United Football Netball Club Juniors aims to provide all children the opportunity to participate in Australian football & Victorian netball rules in an environment that is safe, supportive and inclusive.

The club will endeavour to provide the best possible support for the health, welfare and well-being of its players, officials, supporters and spectators. This will be achieved through the club’s resources, management, activities and values.

We have Child Safeguarding Officers (CSO).  The CSO role will serve as the first point of contact for club community members and others who have concerns about a child or young person within the club and provide advice and support to assist that person with making a report.

 SUFNC Juniors will provide:

·  competent coaches and assistants

·  adequate facilities, amenities and equipment

·  supervised social functions encouraging family participation

·  regular communication and consultation with players and parents

·  active club leadership and management

 SUFNC Juniors is committed to:

·  promoting the sport of Australian football for all young people within our local community

·  fostering a culture of child safety

·  encouraging and developing good sporting behaviour

·  promoting the value of exercise in health and wellbeing

·  working to improve general fitness and skills

·  providing an enjoyable social experience easily shared with family and friends

Throughout all of these activities the club teaches a sense of social and community values:

·  respect for officials, opposition players and supporters
