Graeme Weatherley’s contribution to Shepparton United and the wider Goulburn Valley League (GVL) remains one of the most celebrated chapters in our club’s history.
A former Fitzroy Football Club player in the VFL, Graeme brought elite experience and passion to country football. As senior coach of Shepparton United, he guided the club to an extraordinary three consecutive premierships in 1987, 1988, and 1989! A golden era that continues to inspire players and supporters alike.

Beyond the club, his coaching prowess led the GVL representative team to a State Championship victory in 1994, defeating the Mid-Murray League by 32 points, a proud moment for the region.
Today, the Weatherley legacy continues at United. Graeme’s daughter, Deb, is coach of our GVL U15s, and her husband, Tom, is coaching our U14s football side. We are thrilled to feature Deb as June’s Coach Reveal, highlighting her leadership and love for the game, players and her family.
From past triumphs to future promise, the Weatherly name remains deep in the red and blue – Shepparton United.
